Mumbai: Reliance Industries Limited has issued a clarification stating that it has not received any Russian crude oil at its Jamnagar refinery in recent weeks, countering speculation triggered by a media report.
Earlier, Bloomberg reported that three vessels carrying Russian oil were heading towards Reliance’s Jamnagar refinery. The news agency later updated its report, clarifying that the Russian oil cargo was discharged at locations other than Reliance’s refinery.
In its official exchange filing, Reliance confirmed that no Russian oil shipments were delivered to the Jamnagar Refinery, the world’s largest refining complex. The company also stated that there is no undisclosed material information that requires disclosure to investors at this time.
Reliance further reiterated its commitment to strict compliance with disclosure norms laid down by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), emphasizing transparency and regulatory adherence.
The clarification is expected to ease market concerns amid ongoing global scrutiny over crude oil sourcing and supply routes.
