New Delhi, November 10, 2025 — Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived at Lok Nayak Jaya Prakash (LNJP) Hospital late Monday night to meet those injured in the deadly explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station, which has so far claimed at least 10 lives and left over 30 people injured.
Shah is personally overseeing the situation and is expected to visit the blast site shortly. The Delhi Police Commissioner and senior officials from the Home Ministry are already at the hospital meeting with victims and their families.

The powerful explosion took place around 7:00 PM on Subhash Marg, near the traffic signal close to Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station.
A Hyundai i20 car reportedly exploded, setting nearby vehicles on fire and injuring several pedestrians. The impact shattered windows and caused panic in the densely populated Chandni Chowk–Lal Quila area.
In an official statement before leaving for the hospital, Amit Shah confirmed that the incident had resulted in casualties and significant property damage.
“This evening, around 7 PM, a blast occurred in a Hyundai i20 car at the Subhash Marg traffic signal near the Red Fort in Delhi. The explosion injured several pedestrians and damaged nearby vehicles. Preliminary reports indicate that some people have lost their lives,” the Home Minister said.
🔹 High-Level Probe Underway
Amit Shah announced that specialized teams from the National Security Guard (NSG), National Investigation Agency (NIA), and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) have begun a comprehensive investigation at the scene.
“The NSG and NIA teams, along with the FSL, have now started a thorough probe. Orders have been issued to examine all nearby CCTV cameras,” he said, adding that he has spoken with the Delhi Police Commissioner and the Special Branch in-charge, both of whom are at the site.
The Home Minister assured that all angles are being examined, and no possibility will be ruled out until investigators determine the exact cause of the blast.
“We are exploring every possibility and will conduct a detailed investigation. All findings will be made public once confirmed,” he added.

Security across Delhi has been tightened following the blast. Quick reaction teams, bomb disposal squads, and intelligence units have been deployed to sensitive areas.
The Union Home Ministry has also directed the NIA and NSG to coordinate with the Delhi Police to trace the source of the explosion.
Officials said that the priority is to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured and to prevent further panic in the city.
